Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 4, 2026
DeepZone ("we", "our", "the app") is a macOS productivity application that blocks distracting websites and applications. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data That Stays on Your Device
DeepZone runs entirely locally on your Mac. The following data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party:
- Blocking profiles, schedules, and preferences
- Blocked website and application lists
- Keywords and domain exceptions
- Focus session history and statistics
All app data is stored in ~/Library/Application Support/DeepZone/ on your Mac. You can delete this folder at any time to remove all app data.
2. Anonymous Analytics (TelemetryDeck)
DeepZone uses TelemetryDeck to collect anonymous, privacy-first usage statistics. This helps us understand which features are popular and identify crashes.
- What is collected: Anonymous event signals (e.g., "app launched", "focus session started"), app version, macOS version, device model category.
- What is NOT collected: No personal data, no IP addresses, no device identifiers, no browsing history, no blocked site lists, no usernames or email addresses.
- How it works: TelemetryDeck uses a privacy-first architecture with differential privacy techniques. Individual users cannot be identified or tracked. Data is aggregated and anonymized.
- GDPR compliance: TelemetryDeck is fully GDPR-compliant and based in the EU. No consent banner is required as no personal data is processed. Learn more at telemetrydeck.com.
3. License Validation (LemonSqueezy)
When you activate a DeepZone Pro license, the following occurs:
- Your license key is sent to LemonSqueezy's API to verify its validity.
- No other personal data is sent from the app during validation.
- LemonSqueezy processes your purchase data (name, email, payment info) according to their own privacy policy. We receive your email and order details to provide customer support.
4. Website Analytics (Google Analytics)
The DeepZone website (deepzone.app) uses Google Analytics 4 to understand visitor traffic and improve our website. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects anonymized usage data such as page views, referral sources, and approximate location (country level). No personal data from the DeepZone app is shared with Google Analytics.
You can opt out of Google Analytics by using a browser extension like Google Analytics Opt-out or by enabling Do Not Track in your browser.
5. Data We Do NOT Collect
To be clear, DeepZone does not:
- Track your browsing history or internet activity
- Record which websites you visit or block
- Collect personal information from the app
- Share or sell any data to third parties
- Use advertising trackers or retargeting
- Store any data on our servers (we don't have user-facing servers)
6. Third-Party Services
DeepZone integrates with the following third-party services:
- TelemetryDeck — Anonymous analytics (EU-based, GDPR-compliant)
- LemonSqueezy — Payment processing and license management
- Google Analytics — Website analytics only (not in the app)
7. Children's Privacy
DeepZone is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Since DeepZone does not collect personal data through the app, there is typically nothing to access, export, or delete. However, if you have questions about your data or wish to exercise any rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable privacy laws, please contact us.
For data related to your purchase (processed by LemonSqueezy), you may contact LemonSqueezy directly or reach out to us and we will assist you.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of DeepZone after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
